Talks and Lectures

Helen Lloyd’s conference lectures and community talks feature fascinating and entertaining audio extracts from oral history interviews recorded for the BBC, the National Trust, Oxford University, and many other organisations. 

1. Talks

Helen presents audio extracts from the life-stories of ‘ordinary’ people to a wide variety of audiences, including schools, colleges, history societies, church groups, Women’s Institutes and Rotary clubs.

2. Lectures

Helen Lloyd’s distinctive presentations, which feature audio extracts from her oral history interviews, are regularly chosen by conference organisers as their opening or closing lecture. Past lecture topics include:

• her award-winning Oxford University project, Diabetes Stories

• experiences of immigration (Helen won a Race in the Media Award from the Commission for Racial Equality)
• her recordings for the National Trust Back to Backs and the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre
